Dogan was born in either Palestine or Baghdad, Iraq to Turkish parents, Athena was born in Massachusetts to Greek parents.
D’Arcys maternal grandfather is Frederick John Engelfried, son of Frederick Charles Engelfried and Betty Keltz. Frederick Charles was the son of John Engelfried and Emilie Held. Betty was born in Germany and Frederick was born in San Francisco to parents from Württemberg.
