Hans Zimmer is a German film score composer and record producer.
He was born in Frankfurt am Main and was raised in Königstein-Falkenstein in Frankfurt. He is the son of Brigitte (Weil) and Hans Joachim Zimmer. His father was an engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur. He founded Zimmer AG Frankfurt am Main.
Hans has described himself as Jewish. His mother was Jewish and left Germany in 1939 for England, to escape the Nazi Regime.
It is not publicly known if his father was also Jewish, but it is possible.
Hans is married to Suzanne. He has a daughter with his former wife, model Vicki Carolin, and three children with Suzanne.
Hans’ maternal grandfather was named Maximilian Weil.
