Charmian Carr was an american actress and singer best known for her role as Liesl, the eldest Von Trapp daughter in the 1965 film version of The Sound of Music. Her parents were the vaudeville actress Rita K. Oehmen and musician Brian Felix James Farnon. Brian was born in Toronto, and was of half Scot-Irish and half English descent. Rita was of half German and half Irish descent.
Her sisters, Shannon Farnon and Darleen Carr are also known actresses.
