Bruce Bennett was an American actor and highly successful college athlete in football and in both intercollegiate and international track-and-field competitions. In 1928 he won the silver medal for the shot put at the Olympic Games held in Amsterdam. He was the son of Anton Heirich Brix and Minna Christina Margaretha Petersen, immigrants from Schleswig-Holstein.
Bruce’s paternal grandparents were Peter Friedrich Brix and Maria C. Andresen.
Bruce’s maternal grandmother was Anna Christina Jessen.
