Richard was born in Alaska, U.S. Achille was a Belgian emigrant from Jemappes, Hainaut, Wallonia. Anna was the daughter of German parents, Charles B. Jaensch/Jeansch, from Schonfeld, and Pauline Buschmann.
Ruth’s paternal grandmother was Betty Jo Chaffee (the daughter of Paul Button Chaffee and Odeyne Elizabeth Byers). Betty Jo was born in Washington state, and had deep lines in America. Paul was the son of Charles Button Chaffee and Harriet Bassett. Odeyne was the daughter of Joseph Pierce Byers and Nancy Ann Bedell.
