Adolph was a German immigrant, and was the son of Frederick Schneider and Ernstine Fischer. Elizabeth was born in New York, also to German immigrants, Frederick Jung and Mary Müller.
Fred’s paternal grandmother was Elsie Ervine Schiller (the daughter of John Emil Schiller and Josephine Allmann). Elsie was born in New Jersey. John was a German emigrant, from Zweibrücken, Rhineland-Palatinate, and was the son of Charles Schiller and Catherine/Kathrine Braun. Martha was also a German emigrant, from Bebra, Hesse, and was the daughter of George Friedgen and Elizabeth Kierth.
Fred’s maternal grandmother was Caroline Emilia Breyer (the daughter of Charles Breyer and Maria Leonie Wanner). Caroline was born in Newark, New Jersey, to an Alsatian father and a German mother.
