Eric Newman is an American film and television producer and writer. He is known for being a showrunner of television series Narcos.
His father is American Jewish singer, songwriter, composer, arranger, and pianist Randy Newman. His mother was a German emigrant, from Düsseldorf. He is married to Dana Stewart, with whom he has one child.
On his father’s side, Eric is a first cousin, once removed, of prominent composers and musicians Thomas Newman, David Newman, and Maria Newman, and a great-nephew of composers Lionel Newman, Emil Newman and Alfred Newman.
Eric’s paternal grandfather was Irving George Newman (the son of Michael Nemorofsky/Newman and Luba Koskoff/Kosakoff). Irving was born in Connecticut, to Russian Jewish parents.
