George Reeves was an American actor. He starred as Clark Kent / Superman in the 1950s film Superman and the Mole Men and television series Adventures of Superman.
He was the son of Helen (Lescher) and Donald Carl Brewer. He moved with his mother to Ashland, Kentucky, and then Galesburg, Illinois, after his parents’ separation. The later settled in California, and George was adopted by his stepfather, Frank Bessolo, changing his name to George Bessolo.
George’s patrilineal line can be traced to John Brewer, who was born, c. 1614, in London, Middlesex, England.
