Eva Cassidy was an American vocalist and guitarist. Her father, Hugh Cassidy, is an American metal sculptor, jazz musician, and former powerlifter. Her mother, Barbara (Kratzer), is a German immigrant, from Bad Kreuznach.
Eva’s paternal grandfather was Lewis Cochran Cassidy (the son of Hugh Gilbert Cassidy and Mary Dorothea Fagan). Hugh was the son of Lewis Cochrane Cassidy, who served as the Attorney General of Pennsylvania from 1883 to 1887, and of Sallie Truman. Mary was the daughter of Louis Estell Fagan and Mary Dorothea Colahan.
Eva’s paternal grandmother was Clara Louise McGrew (the daughter of Frank Lawson McGrew and Eva Avonia Johnston). Frank was the son of James Carr McGrew and Mary Jane Read. Eva was the daughter of James Calvin Johnston and Mary Isabella Kindle.
