Bob Uecker is an American Major League Baseball broadcaster, former player, and actor. He was a catcher. His acting roles include George Owens in Mr. Belvedere and play-by-play announcer Harry Doyle in the Major League film series.
Bob is the son of Mary (Schultz) and August Gustav Uecker. His father was a Swiss-German immigrant, from Basel, Basel-Stadt. His mother was born in Michigan, and had German and Irish ancestry.
Bob was previously married to Joyce Irene Jahn, with whom he had four children.
