Linda Blair is an American actress, animal rights activist, and author. She is known for her role as Regan MacNeil in The Exorcist franchise. She has also starred in the films Roller Boogie, Hell Night, Chained Heat, Savage Streets, Grotesque, and Repossessed, in the made-for-television movies Born Innocent, Sarah T. – Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic, and Stranger in Our House, and on the series L.A. 7; hosted the reality show Scariest Places on Earth; and appeared on Animal Planet’s Pit Boss. She founded nonprofit organization the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, serving rehabilitation and adoption of rescue animals.
She is the daughter of Elinore, a real estate agent, and James Frederick Blair, a Navy pilot, and executive recruiter. Linda was raised in Westport, Connecticut, from a young age, while her father worked in New York City. She was a child model and trained equestrian.
