Paton is the daughter of actors Lorenzo Lamas and Daphne Ashbrook. Her half-siblings are actors AJ Lamas and Shayne Lamas. Her uncle (mother’s brother) is actor Dana Ashbrook and her aunt (mother’s sister) is actress and director Taylor Ashbrook. Her great-uncle (maternal grandmother’s brother) was folk singer Sandy Paton, who co-founded the folk music record label Folk-Legacy Records.
Paton’s maternal grandfather was actor and director Buddy Ashbrook (born Vernon Lee Ashbrook; the son of Albert Vernon Ashbrook and Madelon Mildred Jones). Albert was the son of Vernon Buford Ashbrook and Leota Margaret Baldwin. Madelon was the daughter of Jay Earl Jones and Luvilla S. Ballman.
Paton’s maternal grandmother is actress D’Ann Paton (born Dorothy Ann Paton; the daughter of Hubert Alexander Paton and Gwendolyn Carroll Gans). Hubert was the son of Alexander Paton, who was born in Galston, Ayrshire, Scotland, and of Gertrude Beryl Pierce, whose mother was English.
