Maryam d’Abo is an English actress. She is known for her role as the Bond girl Kara Milovy in The Living Daylights. Maryam is the daughter of Nino (Kvinitadze) and Peter Claude Holland d’Abo. Her cousin is singer Mike d’Abo.
Contrary to what might be expected, the surname “d’Abo” does not originate in France, but in Denmark, and it is derived from the Danish village Åbo.
Maryam’s paternal grandparents were Gérard Louis d’Abo (the son of Henry William Leonard d’Abo and Emily Francis Burton) and Muriel Molesworth Kindersley (the daughter of Edward Nassau Molesworth Kindersley and Ada Good Murray). Gérard was born in the Netherlands. Edward was born in the United Kingdom. Ada was born in St John’s Wood, England.
Maryam’s maternal grandparents were Giorgi Ivanovich Kvinitadze (born Chikovani), a Georgian military commander, and Mariam Makashvili, a Georgian princess. Giorgi and Mariam were both born in Georgia.
