Jerry Lee Lewis, also known by his nickname The Killer, is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He is known as one of the pioneers of rock’n’roll. Jerry is the son of Mary Ethel “Mamie” (Herron) and Elmo Kidd Lewis.
Jerry’s patrilineal ancestry can be traced back to his twelth great-grandfather, Ifan Iorwerth ap Einion, who was born, c. 1512, in Bryngwallon, Wales.
Jerry’s paternal grandparents were Leroy Milton “Lee” Lewis (the son of John Lewis and Caroline Matilda Kidd) and Arilla Hampton (the daughter of Preston Hampton and Jane F. H. Lewis).
Jerry’s maternal grandparents were John William Herron (the son of George B. Herron and Mary C. Hesler) and Theresa Lee Foreman (the daughter of Edward David Forman and Susan D. Russell).
