Johann Schneider-Ammann is a Swiss businessman and politician. He has been a member of the Swiss Federal Council, since 1 November, 2010, where he has been the President of Switzerland, since 1 January, 2016. He was previously the Vice President of Switzerland, from 1 January, 2015 to 31 December, 2015.
His parents, Elisabeth (Hofmann) and Ernst Schneider, were veterinarians. He is married to Katharina Ammann.
