Black Francis’ paternal grandfather was Errol M. Thompson (the son of Errol Mitchell Thompson and Louise Isabell Kittredge). Black Francis’ great-grandfather Errol was the son of Harry Linwood Thompson and Annie E. Parker. Louise was the daughter of William Hussey Kittredge and Nellie May Black, who was Scottish.
Black Francis’ paternal grandmother was Frances Smith (the daughter of Edward Smith).
Black Francis’ maternal grandfather was Edwin Judkins (the son of Lewis Judkins and Bertha Eleanor Daniel). Lewis was the son of Edward George Judkins and Ella Prescott. Bertha was the daughter of Walter Daniel, who was German, and of Mary Enola Fairbanks, whose mother was of Irish ancestry.
