Richard Lugar is an American politician. A Republican, he served as Mayor of Indianapolis, from January 1, 1968 to January 1, 1976, and a U.S. Senator from Indiana, from January 3, 1977 to January 3, 2013.
He was a candidate for the Republican Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 1996.
Richard is the son of Bertha Isabelle (Green) and Marvin Leroy Lugar.
